7/8/07 - The reunion was great and everyone that came really enjoyed
themselves and each other's company at Tony and Eleanor's. Anytime the
Moen's get together, a good time will be had by all. The only thing that
would have made it better would be if all of the Moen's could have been there.
But we understand that can't always happen and we know that everyone was there
is spirit.
I'll be putting a few of the best photos on the website soon. If you
would like a DVD of the reunion, let me know and I will get one to you.

Monday, June 10
There is a social hour starting
anytime after 6 pm at the Cottonwood Restaurant before the dinner. This
will give everyone time to have a cocktail, get their T-Shirts and visit before
we sit down to dinner at 7:30.
Saturday, June 8
About the food. BBQ, hamburgers, hotdogs and buns are being supplied at
the picnic. Everyone can then bring lots of their favorite side
dishes. As mentioned in a previous update, all of the plates, cups,
napkins and utensils are also being supplied.
Peter made the excellent suggestion that the day of the picnic we take up a
collection for Marsden Park. The park is maintained by volunteer
organizations so a generous donation from us would be a nice gesture.

Total # of tee times - 7, which means we can accomodate 28 golfers total
We have this set up to golf 9 holes. Figured by the time everyone got done
it would be time to collect families and head to the park for the picnic. Cost
is $15.00 for the 9 holes. A cart is $10.00 for 9 holes (total, not per
person). Tee times start at 8:30 and go every 10 minutes.
We are not running any formal tournament or organizing fore-somes. Everyone
has the list and can form their own groups, as long as we don't go over the 7
tee times we have reserved. Some organizing can also take place at the
Cottonwood Friday evening. People can let me know then who they will
have in their groups. Peter said he will help organize that evening, along
with Matt's help, after downing several old-fashions.

OK everyone - we are getting down to the wire! Only 28 days left until
Fennimore will be inundated with Moens from all over the country. I have
tried to put as much information as I can on this page. Eric will soon
send me the details you will need to know if you are going to play golf on
Saturday morning and I will publish them here as soon as I get them.

From the emails we have received,
everyone is pretty excited about it - I know I am. The numbers are looking
good too. Kathy says 88 people will be at the dinner on Friday night, 99
will be at the brunch on Sunday. With the exception of just a few Moens,
everyone will be at the picnic on Saturday. Our estimate is about
120! Pretty good considering these are descendants and spouses from just
Grandma and Grandpa Moen.
The next time you see or talk to
one of the other committee members - Kathy, Karen, Rose and Mark, please be sure
to thank them for all of the work they have done in putting this together.
There is no way this could have gone as smoothly as it did without their
help. Special thanks should also go to Bekee for her work in getting the
t-shirts and Eric and Pete for organizing the golf game.

"The Silent Woman" after church. Again, each family pays for
their own.
Lodging: Fennimore Hills has about 25 rooms. Their phone number is 1-608
822 3281. Please call them as soon as possible and have them hold a room
for your family as needed. Tell them you are with the Moen Family Reunion
and you will get a 10% discount. Room rates are normally $41- $64/night,
depending on how many are in the room. DON'T FORGET TO BOOK YOUR ROOM
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. They told me they book up early for that time of
the year.
T-Shirts: T-shirt
design is complete and the orders have been placed. Cost per shirt will be
$9.00. You will be able to pick up and pay for your shirt(s) at the dinner
on Friday night.
Funding: Thoughts are that
each family will pay for their own food, /T Shirts, etc., and a collection will
be taken to help pay for any extras if needed.
